A look at my and @lou.vaugeois visit to Les Îles de la Madeleine (Magdalen Islands). Such an incredible maritime place. Rolling hills covered in plush green grass; rocky coast lines with crashing waves; bustling fishing marinas; and beautiful colorful homes dotting the landscape. I couldn't recommend a trip here more. Everywhere you go are opportunities to scramble up steep grassy slopes to catch stunning views off the rocky coastline. I'm sure many would think "It's like the coasts of Ireland or Scotland!", and they'd be right, but maybe we ought to stop comparing our North American landscapes to places far away, and instead appreciate that we have all the beauty right here, just a short boat ride or drive away.
You can only get there by plane or boat. The ferry leaves from Souris in Prince Edward Island and takes about 5 hours to cross the Gulf Of St Lawrence to the islands. As you approach the islands you might imagine what Jacques Cartier saw on his first voyage to Canada in 1534, as he passed by these magnificent islands on route to Gaspé. #ilesdelamadeleine #lesiles #magdalenislands #tourismelesilesdelamadeleine #quebec #quebectourism #travelvlog #travelvideo2020 #travel2018 #maritimes #cliffs #rockycoast #PEI #discovercanada @ilesdelamadeleine
