Mexico Vacation Day 11, Part I - February 24, 2020
Today I finally arrived at the destination that has been on my bucket list for many years: Oaxaca. This historic city is also in the state of the same name and both have enough things of interest to keep you entertained for weeks, as you will see in my forthcoming posts. In fact, I did so much in this area over the course of four days that I am going to split up the days into Parts I & II and possible more.
Upon arrival around noon I grabbed a bite to eat (Oaxaca is also known for its food, which warrants several separate posts) then just started walking. The historic center is a wonderful place to just stroll around aimlessly. You'll encounter churches on seemingly every block, street vendors selling just about everything imaginable, beautiful architecture, musicians, and so much more.
This first set of photos is primarily of two of the most famous churches: Oaxaca Cathedral and Templo de Santo Domingo. The second one you really have to see to believe. It is mesmerizing!
